System Design: Developing detailed designs for solar photovoltaic (PV) systems or concentrating solar power (CSP) systems based on the specific requirements of the project. This involves sizing the system, selecting appropriate solar panels, inverters, mounting structures, and other components.
Electrical Design: Designing the electrical layout of the solar power system, including the configuration of solar panels, wiring, inverters, transformers, switchgear, and distribution equipment. This also involves ensuring compliance with relevant electrical codes and standards.
Mechanical Design: Designing the mechanical components of the solar power system, such as mounting structures, trackers (if applicable), and cooling systems (for CSP systems). Structural analysis to ensure the system can withstand environmental loads such as wind, snow, and seismic forces is also performed.
Civil Design: Designing the civil infrastructure required for the solar project, including foundations for mounting structures, access roads, fencing, and drainage systems. Civil engineering considerations also include soil analysis and geotechnical studies.
Interconnection and Grid Integration: Planning and designing the interconnection of the solar power system with the local electrical grid, including the necessary equipment and infrastructure for grid-tie systems, as well as compliance with utility requirements and regulations.
Permitting and Regulatory Compliance: Assisting with the permitting process and ensuring compliance with local building codes, zoning regulations, environmental regulations, and other legal requirements.
Cost Estimation and Procurement Support: Providing cost estimates for the solar project, including equipment, labor, and other expenses. Assisting with procurement by specifying equipment and materials and soliciting bids from suppliers and contractors.
Construction Support: Providing technical support during the construction phase of the project, including reviewing contractor submittals, conducting site inspections, and addressing any design-related issues that may arise.
